Astrology for your Life (coming soon)
Astrology is the ancient art/science of divination based on the influence of the planets in the solar
system on people, places and events. A horoscope is a diagram that shows the positions of the
Sun and Moon and the planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto on a
specific day at a specific time (we will refer to all of these as planets from now on). All of these
calculations must be made relative to a place on the
Earth expressed in lattitude and longitude. To begin your own studies in Astrology you must first
get a chart done of the location of the planets at your time of birth: we recommend

analysis and study.
The horoscope itself is a simple statement of astronomical facts and can be viewed as a scientific
document. The interpretation of the Horoscope by an astrologer or laymen is more artistic and intuitive
in nature, but is still based on the historical properties of the planets and how they influence each other
and the Earth throughout time immemorial.

The zodiac (a circular band in the sky through which the planets move) is a combined
invention of the Egyptians, Chaldeans and the Babylonians. It is divided into
12 equal sections (known as the signs). Many early people mapped the
stars in the sky and tracked the patterns and seasons that each group of stars
signified. The name zodiac was later coined by the Greeks to mean 'Circus of Animals'
since most of the 12 signs of the zodiac represent an animal. For more
information about ancient cultures and early astrology (archeo-astrology) see our
history of Astrology section.

There are three main types of Astrology: Horary, Mundane and Natal.
The first two initial types of Astrology were Horary (for determining auspicious times for taking
action), and Mundane (for predicting disasters and other happenings as they are concerned with
groups and entire races of people). Eventually around the fifth century BC,
the Chaldeans started to observe and record relationships between the planets
and a person's destiny - Natal Astrology was intitially developed and then
refined by the Greeks.
Natal Astrology (Greek for "I look at the hour") is used to determine the personality
type by analyzing the astrological chart at the exact time (when the first breath was taken) and
place of birth. This form of Astrology has become the most popular and is the one
we will focus on here to allow you to develop and understand your own personality.
