Please read below to find out how to add a functional Rate form to your own site.

You can add this FORM to your site and let users vote on your site. Have it rated on a scale of 1 to 10. It's great activity for your site, as well as a way to see where your site stands. This form can go on any website and works with either Internet Explorer or Netscape browser, the action is called from our server. It will score your Rating in the Pathways database. See if your site has what it takes to be Rated at the top.

The benefits of using this new Form are:

  • After a person votes, it automatically redirects them BACK to YOUR site.
  • Non-obtrusive on your page
  • Very small (only 2K bytes, yes the entire form is oly 1,922 bytes)
  • Allows a user rating scale from 1-10, rather then the Pathways rating scale of 1-5.
  • Double voting is BLOCKED and not allowed. This keeps the voting fair.
  • You can see real time stats on your rating by going to the Page that your site rating is located on, or by looking up YOUR link in the database.

All you need to do to get your site started on the RATE IT program is the following:

  • First must have your site listed in the Pathways Search Engine. GO here.

  • Next Find your ID number - included with your Welcome Email, or
    After you are notified of your listing, find your site in Pathways (using Search, or by visiting the Page you are located on) and place your mouse cursor over the link - click on the Right mouse button on your mouse and choose the 'Copy shortcut (or copy link option), now open Notepad, or a similar editor and Paste the shortcut (use Ctrl-V, or from the Edit menu choose Paste), look at the END of the shortcut line you just pasted for the value of the link ID, which will read something like this:
    http://www.thedreamtime.com/cgi-bin/FrameItTopdw.cgi?rec_title=TheDreamtime&url=http://www.thedreamtime.com/cgi-bin/links/jump.cgi?ID=99999

    Note the number AFTER the "ID=" (99999 in this example). Write this number down, this is your ID number.

  • Copy ALL of the HTML code below (in the white box below) - click in the box, then press Ctrl-C (on your keyboard), and paste (put cursor in your editor and press Ctrl-V (on your keyboard) it into your page where you want the form to appear.

  • Insert your OWN ID value: After pasting the code, find the line that appears like this (replace the 99999 with your ID#):
    <input type="hidden" name="ID" value="99999">
    In the code you just pasted into your page. Replace the ID number value (value="99999" in this example) with YOUR OWN ID number value, for example value="125" or whatever number you found for your ID number. So the line would read like this (if your ID number was 125):
    <input type="hidden" name="ID" value="125">
